The Telethon Institute for Child Health Research hosted a free public information seminar on the latest scientific evidence surrounding childhood vaccination.
 
The seminar provided an opportunity for parents, health professionals and members of the public to hear from and ask questions of the State’s leading experts in immunology, infectious diseases and vaccination.
 
Hosted by Professor Fiona Stanley AC, the evening consisted of informative presentations and a panel discussion with Dr Peter Richmond, Paediatrician, head of The Vaccine Trials Group; Clinical Associate Professor Deborah Lehmann, Infectious Disease Researcher; and Mr Bruce Langoulant, Chairman, The Meningitis Centre.

20th Anniversary Staff & Alumni Party

Professor Fiona Stanley and Dr Carol Bower cut the birthday cake, as 180 current staff and alumni celebrated the impressive 20 year milestone.

Addressing the younger researchers in the crowd, Professor Stanley urged the Institute's future leaders to embrace the passion the Institute was founded on and continue to build on the outstanding achievements of the past 20 years.

Perspectives in Child Health Lecture Series - Autism: filling in the pieces of the puzzle

Addressing an audience of more than 200 people, Dr Whitehouse discussed his current Autism research at a recent public lecture at the Institute. Dr Whitehouse debunked common myths about ASD, including links to Measles Mumps & Rubella (MMR) vaccine and the so-called ‘autism epidemic’.
